Many men wait for a dramatic revelation that will explain what they should do with their lives. While they wait, years are spent in low-stakes distraction. Purpose usually arrives more quietly. Interest becomes purpose when it is tied to responsibility, skill, contribution, and sacrifice. Meaning grows around what you repeatedly choose to care for. Run experiments instead of demanding certainty. Choose one useful problem, person, community, or craft and serve it seriously for ninety days. Pay attention to where effort creates energy, where your abilities grow, and where other people become better because you showed up. A calling is often recognized in the evidence left by committed action.
