Choose a Worthy Burden
A meaningful life is not weightless; it carries the right weight.
The fantasy of total freedom is attractive because it removes obligation. It also removes the structure that gives life gravity. Every life contains burdens: debt, regret, discipline, family, mastery, leadership, or the consequences of avoiding them. You cannot eliminate weight. You can only decide whether the weight strengthens you or slowly bends you out of shape. Choose burdens connected to love, duty, growth, and contribution. A hard training plan is better than preventable weakness. A difficult conversation is better than months of resentment. Building a valuable skill is better than depending on luck. Ask not only, 'What do I want?' but also, 'What difficulty am I willing to carry with honor?'
